Meaning matters more than spelling
Two words can look completely different and still be related: a doctor and a hospital share a context, while a tree and a leaf share a natural relationship. Words that share letters are not necessarily close in meaning.
SoloWord uses a language model to compare words. Its associations can differ from yours. A connection may come from a shared topic, typical usage or another meaning of a word, rather than a direct synonym.
Read the change, not just the number
| Guess | Closeness | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| nature | 40% | Try a more specific branch of this topic. |
| forest | 70% | Explore trees, materials and places. |
| tree | 90% | Try related parts, types or actions. |
These numbers explain a method; they do not predict the app's scores. The improvement from one guess to the next suggests a useful branch to explore. A drop can still be informative because it tests and weakens one hypothesis.
Compare the strongest guesses in your round
Use the best-scoring words in your attempt list as reference points. A place near the top of your guesses tells you which ideas have worked best so far; it does not tell you how many letters are correct.
If the app also shows a rank, treat it as an ordering indicator, separate from the percentage. A rank is not a count of attempts remaining. A high percentage alone is not a victory: rely on the game's confirmation that the answer has been found.
Why an unexpected word can score well
Related words are not always interchangeable. Opposites can occur in the same context; an object and its purpose can be strongly connected; a word with several meanings can point you toward the wrong interpretation.
Test the connection with two or three different guesses. If one odd result does not lead to further progress, return to your other strong words. Compare feedback within the same round and language, rather than assuming that the same percentage has exactly the same significance in every puzzle.
Report a result that seems wrong
Send the game language, mode, guessed word and score to studio support. After the round ends, include the revealed answer if you know it. A screenshot and the app version help us investigate. Avoid publicly sharing a current Daily answer if you want other players to solve it themselves.
